Anonymous asked: Yes, it was same anon :) I can't bring myself to delete the bookmark to your tumblr so I will no doubt check in from time to time "just in case." Wishing you all the very best!
Oh, so it was you. Hello there, same anon.
Once again, thank you for your messages. They’re very nice of you. I wish you all the best as well (and wish you had a tumblr of your own so we could speak privately)!
Anonymous asked: I will always be grateful for the many beautiful images I saw on your tumblr, and especially the ones that introduced me to The Fall. Take care!
If you are the same anon from all those months ago, I’m delighted once again that you were introduced to The Fall via my tumblr. If you aren’t them, well.. I’m delighted for you as well.
Anyway, thank you for your message. I very much appreciate it, and I’m glad you got some sort of enjoyment from what I posted.
tookmyskull asked: Tag, you’re it! Here are the rules: Each tagged person must post ten things about themselves. You have to choose and tag ten people. Go to their blogs and tell them you tagged them!
I’ve tried to think of ten facts to share without revealing too much about myself, but I cannot think of anything worth while. I’m not a terribly interesting fellow, so I suppose there isn’t that much of a loss here.
If it’s any consolation to you, I’m not really the sort of person to answer these.. ‘quizzes’, shall we say — even if it were about Sherlock Holmes.
littlelacedress asked: Snap, my dear boy, you have the best music taste ever. I am loving the one you just posted. HAVE MY MUSICAL BABIES, ALL OF THEM.
Oh, why thank you. That’s very kind of you to say so.
If you like that particular song, you should listen to the rest of the soundtrack for A Single Man; both it and the film are really quite beautiful.
In fact, anyone who has not watched that film should do so immediately.
littlelacedress asked: The other day, you posted up a music file 'Follow you down to the red oak tree', and I pressed play just for the love of it (yeah I'm stalking you). I just want to thank you for that post! That song was so beautiful. I'm going to ask you to keep on posting moar beautiful songs, please? :3c
Oh, well thank you. I was inspired to post it after a rewatch of Third Star (which is a film with it’s own moments of beauty).
I’m not sure if any future music posts from me will be to your taste. I can but try.
meiringens asked: Oh actually maybe we never talked but were just following eachother. I DON'T REMEMBER. I should stop thinking mutual following means people I know? I would feel even more creepy throwing some random username at you only to realize you're not the same person. Well, well. Anyway, while I'm here, thank you for reblogging my crappy retired Holmes.
Hm, I don’t know. Perhaps it was me, perhaps it wasn’t. In any case, we’re following each other right now, so.. hoorah?
Oh, your art isn’t crappy! It’s absolutely darling — and I completely agree with what you said regarding the lack of retired Holmes fanart being quite sad. I may try to draw some when I have a sketchbook available to me.
meiringens asked: Hum okay, this is going to sound very creepy but... are you who I think you are? If not, oh I mean, if we weren't following each other's old tumblrs and never talked before, please do forgive me. Well anyway, you have pretty great tastes in everything and your plan for retirement is very similar to mine (i.e. identical). I'm just going to shut up now.
Oh, no, you don’t sound creepy at all. It’s quite all right.
I’m afraid I’m not who you think I am. While I have had one other tumblr account before this one, I never communicated with any of my followers (unless the odd question was asked).
Thank you! If I, for some reason, cannot model my retirement after Sherlock Holmes, I think I shall go to New Zealand and live in a hobbit-hole.
Anonymous asked: (sorry, not really a question) Last year I found Sherlock fandom & somewhere along the way found your tumblr. But you also posted some mysteriously beautiful stills from something tagged "The Fall." Once I realized it is a film, I got it from the Library & last night finally watched it. Thank you! I would have missed this visual feast if not for you. (I would reblog them & thank you properly but am not on tumblr). Once again the power of the internets for sharing things of beauty!
It is, indeed, a spectacular film. I found it much the same way as you (through someone’s Tumblr page), and am delighted that I stumbled upon it.
Anyways, I’m glad that you managed to obtain it and watch it!
stolen-relic asked: What is your favourite and least favourite aspect of each incarnation of Sherlock Holmes you have seen?
Oh dear, I didn’t see this. I apologise if you’ve been waiting a while for a response.
Well, I will say right away that I am not a fan of that bloody stereotypical look (deerstalker, cape, bulbous pipe) he’s constantly associated with. At the same time, people wouldn’t be able to recognise him without it because the look is so iconic. That is the only reason I have to like it, otherwise I have to try very hard not to drag my hand across my face every time I see it or hear it mentioned. Although, just because a Holmes is donned with these items doesn’t mean I won’t watch a film/programme.
My favourite aspect is more difficult to define because I love the character as a whole. I would say that it’s probably that each adaptation has a different way of shaping him and his characteristics, and it’s interesting to see how they unfold in the show/film/whatever.
idbelostwithoutmyblogger asked: You sir, have ignited the Sherlock fandom once more. Jeans in actual series, not just pilot = MINDS BLOWN ERRY'WHERE. I congratulate you, we now have something to cling to in these last months before the next series. *scuttles away to watch every episode again and curse internally that I did not see the jean-bum on my first 16 viewings*
Oh, thank you? I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, actually, but I can be a horrible procrastinator.
Honestly, I’m a bit taken aback at the response to this; it’s simply something I noticed. Oh, well. If people enjoy it (which certainly seems to be the case) then that’s fine.
my-whispers-world asked: Ur Graphics is so goooddddd :D I <3 It :)
Oh, erm, thank you! I’m glad you like them.
